About Julie

Julie Le Blanc is a speculative fiction writer with a PhD on the Irish war-goddess, the Morrígain, in modern Children’s Books. She types away as a copy editor, working towards fluency in Italian and Irish.

Her short fiction has been published by Haunted Waters Press, Paper Lanterns Literary Journal, and Channel Magazine, and her flash ‘Tended’ was a winner of the Irish Writers Centre's ‘Writing for a Change: Flash Fiction Competition’ in 2020. Her first SFWA-qualifying short story, 'The Mechanic', was published in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction in May/June 2022. Her second, 'Devil's Lace', appeared in Diabolical Plots in February 2023.

Julie was born in Rhode Island, got used to hurricanes and alligators in Florida, and learned Italian in Rome. She now lives in Ireland with her husband.
